Brenda E. Smith, 72, of 1610 McDuffie Street, Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at the home of her daughter.  Born in Anderson, SC, she was the widow of Ernest O'Neal Smith and the daughter of the late Clarence Hampton and Remell McDowell.

Brenda attended Westside High School and was a member of Mt. Ararat Independent Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of the Usher Board and the Choir for many years until her health began to decline over the years.

Brenda was married to the late Ernest O'Neal Smith for 44 years before his passing in 2012. She is lovingly remember by their children, Ernest O. Smith Jr. (Janet), Anderson, SC; Marcus Cowan (Theresa), Abbeville, SC; Natasha Smith, Anderson, SC; Catisha Smith, Columbia, SX; and a special niece reared in the home, Latosha Sullivan, Greenville, SC; missed greatly by her grandsons, Marquarious O. Tillman, Dominique O. Smith, Montico D. Smith, Jayden Hodges, Jules Hodges, and one great-grandson, Keloni Tillman, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 3 pm Sunday at Tabernacle Deliverance and Praise, 4748 Liberty Highway, Anderson, SC with burial to follow at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be at D. B. Walker Funeral Services Saturday from 3 -7 pm and the body will be placed in the church at 2 pm Sunday.
