Gary Lee Hunter

Anderson, SC - Gary Lee Hunter, 65, of 417 Douglas Street, died Saturday, November 21, 2020, at the Rainey Hospice House.

Gary was born in Anderson SC and was the son of Furman Ace and Marie Hall Hunter.  He was a 1973 graduate of McDuffie High School and served in the US Army from 1973 - 1976. At an early age he joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and later attended Mt. Carmel CME Church.

Gary leave to cherish his memory his wife of forty-three years, Vivian Elaine Earle Hunter; son Eric Lee (April) Hunter; grandson, Dest'n White; great-granddaughter, Stella White; brother, Bobby (Viola) Brown; mother-in-law, Rossie Earle, all of Anderson, SC. Gary is also survived by an uncle, John Sanders, Boston, MA, nephews, great nephews, great nieces, special friends and other relatives.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Calvin and Joe Billy Hunter, grandparents, Sanders and Louella Hall, Jessie, Lilton and Leola Hunter, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services are 3 pm Monday at MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veteran Cemetery with viewing Sunday from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.
