Joyce Ann Alexander, 65, made her transition from earth to glory Monday, September 28, 2020, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born on August 23, 1955, to the late Azalee and Jack Alexander in Anderson, South Carolina. Joyce resided in Irmo, South Carolina; she was educated in the Anderson County public school system, attending Westside High School and graduating from McDuffie High School. She furthered her education at Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She later moved to Columbia, South Carolina where she made her life. She was a member of Brookland Baptist Church. Joyce was an avid sports fan and football was her sport of choice, the Dallas Cowboys and the Clemson Tigers were her favorite teams. Joyce was a very sociable person who was loved by many, especially her friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Azalee Massey Alexander; one brother, Jesse Lee Alexander; her grandmother, Alberta Dubose and one uncle, Grady Dubose. Joyce is survived by her siblings; Cathy Alexander, James Alexander, Jeffery Alexander, Jack Alexander and David Alexander, all of Anderson, South Carolina; an uncle, Aaron Dubose of Anderson, South Carolina; four nieces and one nephew from Anderson, South Carolina; one niece from Houston, Texas; along with a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and many close friends whom will all miss her dearly.
