LaPorshia Janae Gray Cobb
Belton, SC – LaPorshia Janae Gray Cobb, 34, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Born in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of Cori Gray and Tekeisha Crenshaw Beard.
LaPorshia will be remembered as a loving mother to her three children, an adoring wife and daughter, and was very family oriented.
LaPorshia was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was employed as a CNA at Linley Park Post-Acute and she was attending Piedmont Technical College to become licensed as an LPN. LaPorshia was an accomplished nail technician, had just opened a boutique, she loved fashion and was very creative and stylish in her dress. She was a great cook and loved to bake.
LaPorshia is survived her wife Stephanie Cobb, son, Demarcus Barr; daughters, R'Moni Franklin and De'Nashia Barr, all of the home; mother, Tekeisha (Demond)Beard, Thomson, GA; father, Cori (Keisha) Gray, Saluda, SC; seven sisters, Comeshia Gray, Brittany Gray, Taquella Gray, DeAmber Tompkins, Yasmine Tribble, Janila Cheatham and Teaisha Gray; seven brothers, Keaudre Richey, Zymarian Gray, Kaman Gray, Jacori Gray, Jonavius Moore, Dimazio Pickens, and Tevin Beard; two special dads, Tony Tribble, Cross Hill, SC and Christopher Cheatham, Greenwood, SC; paternal grandfather, Wilbert Gray, Hodges, SC; special grandparents, Bobby (Betty) Tribble; two aunts, Kimberly (Alphonso) Morgan and Naquae Beard; three uncles, James (Virginia) Moore, David Crenshaw and De'Marco Gray; one great uncle, Bobby Joe Riley; three special great aunts, Brenda Curenton, Pernola Barr and Essie Crenshaw; god-mother, Teresa Jones; two god brothers, Adrien Peterson and Marteze Robinson; loving mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Cassandra Cobb; sisters-in-law, Arnetia (Colandids) Jackson and Clarissa Cobb; brothers-in-law, Clarence (Marissa) Cobb and Emmanuel Rhodes; aunts-in-law, Hattie Cobb, Ressie Henry, Ethelena (Johnny) Mattress and Evelyn Lee; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
LaPorshia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Wilton and Patricia Ann Crenshaw, paternal grandmother, Marjorie Gray and uncle, Treffon Gray.
Funeral services are 3 pm Saturday at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, 530 Baptist Avenue, Greenwood, SC with burial in Evening Star Cemetery. Public viewing is Friday at D. B. Walker Funeral Services from 3 – 7 pm and the body will be placed in the church Saturday at 2:30 pm.
The family is at the home, 3115 Belhaven Road Extension, Belton, SC.
