Lawrence Hill, 89, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at his home. Born on May 31, 1927, he was the son of the late Willie and Dolly Smith Hill.

He was united in holy matrimony first to Louise Davis Hill who preceded him in death and his second marriage was to Sally Alberta Fant Hill who also preceded him in death.

He was an active member of Generostee Baptist Church where he sang on the senior choir and he also was a member of the Community Workshop Choir. He was retired from the Kroger Bakery.

In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Ollie Mae Henderson, and brothers, Yancy Hill, Willie Hill, Lonnie Morrison and James C. "Jake" Hardy

Lawrence is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Freeman, Anderson, SC; and Rev. Peggy Hill-Joseph, Stratford, CT; son, William Colson, Stratford, CT; sister, Pauline Brown, Anderson, SC; twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends. He is also survived by a special caregiver and neighbor Nicole Caldwell.
