Mr. Marcus Wilton Reid, 81, of 251 Reidville Rd., Williamston passed on July 17, 2017 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson County on July 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur Reid, Sr., and Pearlie Thompson Reid. He was married to the late Janie Vaughn Reid.  Marcus attended and graduated from Westside High School as part of the class of 1955.  He served in the US Army and worked for many years and retired from Saco-Lowell Co. of Easley, SC.  He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and former member of Silver Spring Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Ronald Reid of Chicago, IL, Terri Abernathy and Deshawn Reid of Pendleton, SC, Patricia Reid-Warren of Helendale, CA, and Mark Vaughn of Williamston, SC; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Reid, Jr. of Williamston, SC.

Marcus was preceded in death by three sisters, Mamie R. Dean, Hazel R. Mattison and Venezuela R. Billups; four brothers, M.C. Reid, William R. Reid, Columbus L. Reid, and Clarence W. Reid.

The family is at the home of his, niece, Drucilla Perry, 1915 Welcome Rd., Williamston.
