Richard Kemble Bonney, 77, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of Ezekiel Bonney and Juanita Crawley Bonney. He retired from Southern New England in Connecticut and relocated to South Carolina in 1990.  He was a US Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Augustus Richard Bonney; brother, Stephen Bonney; sisters, Susan Golson, Noreen Childress and Brenda Jones.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, Bernedene Bonney of the home; two sons, Zavone K. Bonney (Arlene) of Anderson, SC and Toussaint K. Bonney (Nolvia Mejia) of Charleston, SC; daughter, Tanisha Gray (Antonio) of Anderson, SC;  seven grandchildren, Reno Bonney, Roman Bonney, ZaChai Best, Aviana Szulzuk, Samara Cornelison, ZyAire Best and Zhyia Best; sisters, Cynthia Brantley, Michele Bonney-Gee (Clinton), Valerie Rockhead (Aslley) and Lillie Pleasant all of Bridgeport, Connecticut; a host of relatives and many friends.

Graveside Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
