ROBERT HENRY BANKS

Anderson, SC - Robert "Pumpkin" Henry Banks was called from labor on Sunday, June 27, 2021.  He was a loving father, grandfather, community comedian, and orator.  He fought a brave battle with lung cancer, yet he spread joy and laughter everywhere he went.

He was born on November 18, 1951 to the late Robert Henry Banks and Johnnie Mae Stephens Banks.  He accepted Christ at an early age and served at Silver Springs Baptist Church throughout his life.  He worked as a maintenance repairman at various locations throughout the years.

He was always known to bring joy through his comedy, long talks, and cheerful personality.  He had an affinity to spoiling all children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra McNeil Banks, his parents, sister, Cathy Banks; three brothers, Stanley, John and Steven Banks

He leaves to cherish fond memories four children, Terrill Banks (Belinda) of Moore, SC; Kiwana Jeter (Travin) of Spartanburg, SC; Angela Banks of Union, SC and Stacy Banks (Sly Aikens), of the home; three brothers, Archie Lee Banks of Pendleton, SC; Rodney Banks of Guntersville, AL: and Michael Banks of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Susan Banks of Guntersville, AL; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a special friend, Linda McCrary of Greer, SC; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services are 1 pm Thursday at Silver Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The body will be on view from 3 - 7 pm Wednesday at D. B. Walker Funeral Services.

The family is at the home, 3048 Standridge Road, Anderson, SC.
