Ruth E Rochester, 70, departed this life early Sunday morning, July 16, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born on November 7, 1946 to the late Edd and Ella Mae Scott. She was also preceded by three brothers Eddie, Calvin and David; two sisters Dorothy and Margaret; grandparents Dave and Rozella Boston and Governor and Annie Scott.

Ruth was a 1964 graduate of New Deal High School. She joined Mt Moriah Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until her death. She met and married Walter Rochester in 1965 and into this union two sons were born.

Mrs. Ruth leaves to cherish her fond memories; a devoted and loving husband, Walter Lee Rochester of the home; two sons Brian (Shelia) Rochester of Decatur, GA and Christopher (Ronekke) Rochester of Anderson, S.C.; seven grandkids, Seritha (Brandan) Gates, Cheita Rochester, Brian (Michele) Rochester, Xavier Rochester, Christopher Rochester, Tyreese Rochester and Zhoria Rochester; six great grandchildren, Na'Kyla Montgomery, Brian Rochester Jr, Aniyah Rochester, Shanyah Rochester, Cason and Erin Gates; sister Linda Freeman of Anderson, S.C; three sister in laws, Ruth Terell of Atlanta, GA, Ann Scott and Mary Scott both of Anderson, S.C; brother in law John Rochester of Florence, KY and a host of relatives and friends.
