Thomas Ludell Robinson, Sr.

Anderson, SC - Thomas Ludell Robinson Sr., 77, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Iva, SC, he was the son of R.E. Robinson and Jetheree Walker Robinson. He was a graduate of New Deal High School and after graduation, Thomas attended Tri-County Technical College. He then enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for 6 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge. During his time in the military, he was a Rifle Marksman, and received the National Defense Service Medal for serving during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Germany. Thomas was truly a proud veteran. After his tenure in the Army, he became a dedicated employee of BASF Manufacturing. He retired from BASF after 29 years of employment.

At an early age Thomas was baptized and became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. During his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of a local motorcycle club. He also spent time playing pool and being a master checkers player. He had a particular knack for solving riddles and puzzles. Thomas was affectionately known as "Ludell", "PawPaw", "Big Thomas",  "Cledus", "Mr. T" and fondly as, "Six Pack." He will truly be missed.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Mae Eastrich Robinson; three brothers, Alvin, Sam and Harold Robinson; sister, Alberlena Robinson McGruder and one granddaughter, Miracle Lydia McCouller.

He leaves behind to cherish fond memories, one son, Thomas Ludell Robinson Jr. (Channe'l) of Fort Mill, SC; three daughters, Lovey Covington, Shawanda McCouller (Theo), and Francine Robinson, all of Anderson, SC; step-daughter, Shannon Andrews (John), of Chicago, IL; three grandsons, DeAndre Robinson of Charlotte, NC, Quinton McBee of Greensboro, NC and Maeson Grant of Anderson, SC and one granddaughter, LaMiyah Boggs of Anderson, SC; brother, Stanley Robinson (Deborah) of Starr, SC; two sisters, Marvenia Liddell and Annie Faye Williams (Joe), both of Anderson, SC; three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 3 pm, Monday, February 8, 2021 at MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Robinson will be on view at the funeral home, Friday, January 29, 2021, from 4 -7 pm.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Shawanda McCouller, 3881 Old Portman Road, Anderson, SC.. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be receiving family and friends at the home at this time, but ask that you have flowers delivered to D. B. Walker Funeral Services.  Tokens of sympathy can be left at the home of Shawanda McCouller.
