Anthony Vandorian Geer

Anthony V. Geer, 67, husband of JoAnn Jones Geer, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at AnMed Health. 

Anthony was born in Anderson, SC, on April 17, 1958, to Peggy Geer and Wardell McDowell. He was a graduate of Westside High School, a veteran of the US Army, and the National Guard.

Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry Geer and Melvin Martin, grandparents, Jake and Vastie Robinson Geer, and great-grandparents, Sam Eugene and Mahalia Walker Robinson.

Anthony leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, JoAnn Jones Geer; daughter, Shameka Bell; two sisters, Patricia Geer Smith (Phillip), of Chicago, IL and Jackie McDowell Smith (Michael) of Texas; three grandchildren, Jakyria Hodges, Oniya Strong, and Raejhyne Strong; one great-grandchild, who was the love of his life, Zayla Marie Rickman, all of Anderson, SC; a special cousin, Cora Hutchinson, Greenville, SC nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial service Monday at 1 pm in the Marvin Mattison Memorial Chapel, D. B. Walker Funeral Services, with military rites and inurnment to follow at MJ "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

The family is at the home, 213 Wardlaw Street, Anderson, SC.
