Anderson, SC - Billy Darnell Wansley, 59, of 211 Dickens Avenue, died Saturday, May 25, 2019 at AnMed Health.

Born in Anderson, SC,he was the son of Joe and Catherine Webb Wansley. He was a 1978 graduate of Westside High School where he excelled in sports.  He was a track star and played football.  He worked at Haynesworth Mill until it closed and then work at BASF and its subsidiaries until it closed.  For the past five years he was the caretaker for his mother.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother,Catherine Wansley and his brother, Joe B. Wansley (Carla), all of Anderson, SC.

Funeral services are 3 pm Wednesday in the Marvin R. Mattison Memorial Chapel. The body will be on view Tuesday from 1 pm until 8 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until the hour of service.

The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. (Carla) Wansley, 1411 Hunters Trail, Anderson, SC.
