Clarence Bruce Young, Sr., 84, died Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at NHC Healthcare Parklane, Columbia, SC.
Born in Williamston, SC, he was the son of John and Durother Elrod Young. Mr. Young was a retired Sergeant 1st Class, US Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. He also worked with the SC Department of Corrections and was a member of Welfare Baptist Church.
He leaves to mourn his passing, three children, Marva Young, of the home, Eric Young (Chanique), Columbia, SC and Katherine Ware, Belton, SC; sisters, Mildred Arnold, Williamston, SC and Mary Lou Young, Detroit, MI; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Sadie Robinson Young and Kathryn Rogers (Thomas); nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Bellena Robinson Young, son, Clarence (Jay) Young Jr., parents, three brothers, Charles Wilson, John Edward Young and Adolph Young; two sisters, Jewell Banks and Mary Evelyn Baker.
Graveside services are 12 noon Sunday in the Welfare Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be on view Saturday from 3 -7 pm.
