Danny Joe Norris

Danny Norris, known to all as Danny Joe, of 411 Valentine Street passed away peacefully on November 7, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Danny Joe attended Westside High where he played on the defensive line for the Rams. After high school he entered the work force and retired from Kroger Bakery after more than 25 years of service.

Danny Joe will always be remembered as a strong and devoted father that loved his family and cared for others. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he often drove the church van. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and anything involving his grandkids.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his former spouse and mother of his children, Barbie Walker Norris; sons Dantonio (Danielle), DeCarlos (Chakasha) Norris of Anderson, and daughter Cassandra (Marcus) Thomas of Columbia, SC; sisters, Mary Lee, Irene Mattison and Barbara Ann Mattison, all of Anderson;  Granddaughthers; Tiana Norris, Camryn, Mahogany and Malayah Thomas; Grandsons; DeShaun Norris-Jones, Julius, Jalen, Myles, Keinan and Lanxton Norris and Levi Thomas;  Great-grandchildren; Jaleah and Dre-Shaun Jones, and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Danny Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Lee Winfield Norris, father, A.D. Norris; brothers, James, John and Donnell Norris; sisters, Shelby Jean Norris, Sylvia Norris Hunter and Ruby Nell Norris Webb; uncle John Milton Norris and great nephew Rodriquez Mattison.

Funeral services are 2 pm Saturday in the Marvin Mattison Chapel, D. B. Walker Funeral Services.  Public viewing will be Friday from 4 -8 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am until the hour of service.  Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
