Evelyn Workman Mangle Richardson, 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Greenville Post Acute in Greenville, SC. Born in Cross Hill, SC, she was the daughter of Martin Workman and Mattie Cunningham Workman. She was a faithful member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. She sung with the Victorettes for over forty years. She retired from Kendall Mill and was a well-beloved member of the community that was fond of children and she was a caretaker of many.
Mrs. Richardson is preceded in death by husband, Ed Richardson, first husband J.T. Mangle, parents, nine children, Patsy Richardson, Johnny Martin, Ralph Richardson, Johnny Richardson, R.T. Mangle, Henry Lee Mangle, Hazel Mangle Burns, Catherine Hugger, and Eddie Mae Richardson; three sisters, Pauline Byrd, Sue Pearl Penn, and Nora Osborne; four brothers, George, William, Clarence, Ernest and Wallace Workman and two deceased grandchildren, Kenica Richardson and Justin Anderson
She leaves behind to cherish fond memories, two sons, Shakid (Nellie) El-Amin of Anderson, SC, and Willie "Billy" (Linda) Mangle of Pelzer, SC; three daughters Mattie Lou Richardson Blanding of Anderson, SC, Mary Richardson Anderson of Honea Path, SC, and Clara Richardson (Eugene) Nero of Greenville, SC.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Wanda Mangle, Belton, SC and Brenda Workan, High Point, NC; sister-in-law Annie Lee Cherry; brother-in-law Ralph Mangle, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Mrs. Richardson will be on view at D.B. Walker Funeral Services on Sunday, March 15, 2020, from 12 pm until 8 pm.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Monday at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church and the body will be placed in the church at 1 pm; burial in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of her son, Mr & Mrs. Billy (Linda) Mangle of 123 Brookview Circle, Pelzer, SC.
