Geneva Lola Clement, 79, wife of the late Reverend Cecil V Clement, departed this life on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, at UNF Shands in Jacksonville FL. Born in Donalds, SC, she was the daughter of the late Erskine William Jones and the late Nolie Hunter Jones. Geneva attended Carver Elementary School and J.S. Wright High School in Abbeville County. She worked at Erskine College Dining Hall, and as a secretary at WHPB Christian Radio Station in Belton SC. She was also a homemaker, a deaconess, and supported her husband Rev. Cecil V Clement in his duties as an associate minister at Liberty Baptist Church in Honea Path, SC.
Geneva Clement was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, the Reverend Cecil V. Clement; her parents, Erskine William Jones and Nolie Hunter Jones; two brothers, Erskine Jones Jr and Alfred Jones; and a sister, Amanda Jones Thompson.
Geneva Clement leaves to cherish fond memories, son, Timothy Clement, Pelzer, SC; daughters, Angelia Jenkins (Daniel), Bakersville, NC, Jacqueline Henderson, and Claracia Clement, both of Jacksonville, FL. Six siblings, Alexander Jones (Betty), Ervine Jones both of Donalds SC; Euphemia Evans (Edward) of Princeton SC; Edith Inez Jones of Chicago IL; Elizabeth Ann Young of Greenwood SC; Bessie Jones Barmore of Donalds SC; also sister-in-law Alberta Clement (Dallas) of Maryland, and devoted friend Minnie Jones of Belton SC; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services are 12 noon Monday at the Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be on view at DB Walker Funeral Home in Anderson SC Sunday from 3 pm until 7 pm and will be placed in the church Monday at 11 am. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 11am until the hour of service.
