James Lester Rainey

Mr. James Lester Rainey, age 58, of Anderson, SC, departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025. He was born in Anderson, SC, to the late Iola Rainey and Clarence Walker, Jr. He was a 1985 graduate of Crescent High School in Iva, SC, and he worked at the Milliken and Company Plant in Pendelton, SC.

James will be dearly missed by his aunt, Margaret Willis, his uncle, John Robert Rainey, cousins reared in the home; Natalie Mattress, Sebestian Rainey, Marcus Moss (Evette), and Kiara Baylock (Shon), and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mack and Elizabeth Hunter Rainey; one aunt, Bettie Ann Rainey Moss; four uncles, Lester Rainey, Jimmy Rainey, David Rainey, and Jack Rainey; and two great aunts, Clara Tate and Willie Mae Martin.

The funeral service is 11:00 am, Monday, April 21, 2025, in the Marvin R. Mattison Memorial Chapel, D.B. Walker Funeral Services. Public viewing is from 9 am - 11 am, and the family will receive friends from 10 am until the hour of service.

Family members are at their respective homes.
