Jimmie “Slick” Hill, 78, was called home Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He was born December 29, 1946, in Anderson, SC, to his father, the late J. P. Hill, and his mother, Mirtrue Beaty Hill. Jimmy was raised in the home of his grandparents, Willie and Eunice Beaty.
Jimmie was a “Jack of All Trades” but mostly, a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam Era.
Jimmie leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother, Mirtrue Hill of Anderson, SC; daughter, Jamika LeeAnn Hall (Quinnterious), of Anderson, SC; two sons, Jonathan “JoJo” Pinkney (Angel), of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Charles Oliver of Anderson, SC; a loving and devoted aunt, Beblyn Jean Beaty, of Anderson, SC; sister-in-law, Ivery Lee Paul Hill, of Anderson, SC; brother-in-law, Eddie Sheffield, of Bronx, NY; a bonus daughter, Monique Pennygraft, of Lexington, SC; eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, three siblings, Carl and Larry Hill and Linda Faye Hill Sheffield; his maternal grandparents, Willie and Eunice Walker Beaty and his paternal grandparents, Jim and Pearl Hill Hancock (Raymond).
The funeral service is noon Thursday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial to follow in MJ “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Public viewing will be on Wednesday from 3 – 7 p.m. at D. B. Walker Funeral Services, and the body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Quinnterious Hall, 656 Hunters Lane, Anderson, SC, and 1406 High Street, Anderson, SC.
