Johnnie (Sampson) Clinkscales

Mrs. Johnnie Sampson Clinkscales entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Magnolia Manor in Greenville, SC. Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of Stewart and Sallie Carter Sampson.

At an early age, Johnnie moved to New Jersey where she met and married her husband, Nathaniel Clinkscales. She joined St. Paul Baptist Church and served faithfully as an usher, sang on the Senior Choir and was a member of the Friendship Club.  She was a sewing machine operator at Dave's Sportswear. After spending 70 years in New Jersey, she returned to South Carolina in 2009, settling in Belton, SC and joining Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Mrs. Clinkscales was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Raymond Sampson and sisters, Evangelist Lois Gooden and Lillie Jones.

Mrs. Clinkscales is survived by one brother, Stewart Sampson Jr., Welcome, NC, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.The family is at the home of her niece, Linda Pruitt, 1707 Amity Road, Belton,
