On January 23, 2022, Leslie Howard White, 83, gained his wings peacefully at AnMed Health. He was born in Anderson, SC to the late John and Mamie White. He was united in holy matrimony to Olivia Mays White and Leslie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Leslie was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was a devoted church member who loved leading and mentoring people, especially the youth.
Leslie was a textile worker who retired from JP Stevens, Anderson, SC and later retired from Wells Aluminum, Belton, SC. He touched many lives with his smile. He had a passion for gardening and helping people.
Leslie leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife of 43 years, Olivia Mays White, whom he loved and cherished dearly; children, Deborah Chamblee, Danny Miller, Paul Miller, Johnny White (Greenville, SC), Mary (Darryl) Clinkscales, Janice Miller, Margaret Miller and Leslie White; grandchildren who also lived in the home, Daniel Miller, Zachary Epps, Courtney Miller, Kimberly Miller, Kamikka Miller, Alexandria Miller and Alexis Miller; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Brenda White Thompson, Anderson, SC; Inna Wheats, of Washington, DC and Rochella Rice, of Chapel Hill, NC; a host of other relatives and many friends who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jackie Miller, two brothers, Broadus White and John E. White; sister, Francine White and one granddaughter, Latissua Scott.
Funeral services are 12:30 pm Saturday in the Marvin R. Mattison Memorial Chapel, D. B. Walker Funeral Services with burial in Oaklawn Memorial Garden. Public viewing is Friday from 3-7 pm at the funeral home.
