Lillie B. Hardy, 96, of Evanston, Illinois, peacefully transitioned into the eternal, after a visit by her granddaughter, Yolanda Hardy, on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at the Symphony Assisted Living and Care Facility.
Lillie was the last of nine other siblings from the Peter and Hester Martin Family, who preceded her in death, along with (Brothers: Stephen, Samuel, Joshua, Ollie, Thomas, James, and John Martin. Sisters: Bessie Sadler and Mary Perry). Lillie Hardy was born on April 18, 1924, and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, moving to Evanston, Illinois during The Great Migration and making it her permanent home.
She is survived by her son, James Edward Hardy, of Evanston, Illinois and daughter, Mary Ann Johnson of Anderson, South Carolina. Eight grandchildren (Lillian Wilkerson, Anthony Hardy, Dujuana Daniel, Linda-Renee Hardy, Darryl and Darryn Johnson, Todd Edward Hardy and Yolanda Hardy) and a host of great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation and Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 AM and 11 AM respectively on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Bethany Baptist Church in Evanston, Illinois. Viewing at Donnellan Funeral Services, located at 10045 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077.
