Maggie Anderson (Mama Penn)

Maggie L. (Mama Penn) Anderson, 75, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center.  Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of Themond Allen and Johnnie Ruth Anderson.

Maggie was a member of Wilson Calvary Baptist Church, worked in the medical field and was retired from Anderson Memorial Hospital.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frederick D. Penn, son, Frederick DeSha Penn, sister, Ivery Inez Mattox, brothers, Walt Henry and McArthur Sloan.

Maggie leaves to cherish fond memories, son, Themond Penn, Anderson, SC; three daughters, Arlene Anderson, Atlanta, GA; Tanya and Shonna Penn, both of Anderson, SC; sisters, Mary Louise Anderson, Douglasville, GA and Virginia Anderson-Williams, Anderson, SC; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and her fiancé, Willie Charles Blanding.

Funeral services are 1 pm Friday, November 17, 2023, at Wilson Calvary Baptist Church. Public viewing will be Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 3 – 7 pm at D. B. Walker Funeral Services.

The family is at the home, 256 Hales Drive, Anderson, SC.
