Mary "Lil Mary" Claudette Thomas

Mary Claudette Thomas, 44 years old of 315 I Street, Anderson, SC, departed this earthly life on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at AnMed Medical Center.   Mary was born August 25, 1979, in Anderson, SC to Jimmy Ray Thomas and Annie Mary Richardson Thomas. Mary was the youngest child of this union and was affectionately known as “Lil Mary”. 

Mary attended McDuffie High School and was employed at Electrolux until her health declined.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two nephews, Kristopher Roebuck and Brendan Jones; maternal grandparents, James Collie and Annie Mae Richardson; paternal grandparents, Dave and Beatrice Freeman Thomas; and maternal great-grandmother, Cora Lee Sloan.

Mary is survived by her two children, son, Zyquerrious Thompson and daughter, Zaniyah Thomas, both of Anderson, SC; six brothers, Roy Howard Richardson and Rico Orlando (Patricia) Thomas, both of Anderson, SC; Bernard and Dave Rodriquez Thomas, both of Atlanta, GA ; Eugene Morris, Mauldin, SC and Cornell Brown, Clemson, SC; three sisters, Victoria Richardson and Tamara Vonetta Thomas, both of Anderson, SC and Tracy Louise (Felicia Oliver) Thomas, Simpsonville, SC; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service is 3:00 pm Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Starr, SC with Elder Joe Chester as the Eulogist.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 pm on Saturday.

The interment will be in Anderson Memorial Gardens.

Public viewing is Friday, September 15, 2023, from 3-7 pm at D. B. Walker Funeral Services
