Olivia Mays White, 79, widow of Leslie White, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of Jimmy Mays and Mary Frances Roman Mays. Olivia was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she served as President of the Deaconess, President of the Sisterhood and a member of the Senior Choir. She was a volunteer at Nevitt Forest Elementary School and had previously been employed with Wamsutta and as a CNA at the Rocky River Baptist Association Assisted Living Facility.
Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie White, her parents, Jimmy and Frances Mays; son, Johnny White; daughter, Jacqueline Miller; granddaughter, Latissua Scott; and great-grandson, Jakell Jackson; two brothers, James Mays and Nathaniel Mays and a special friend, Gladys Dacus.
Olivia loved all her family, and she leaves to cherish fond memories, her children, Danny Miller, Paul Miller, Deborah Chamblee, Mary Clinkscales (Darryl), Janice Miller, Margaret Miller and Leslie O. White, all of Anderson, SC; 21 grandchildren, with eight raised in the home - Michelle Miller, Daniel Miller, Zachary Epps, Courtney, Kimberly, Kamikka, Alexandria and Alexis Miller; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Margaret Robinson (Freddie), Honea Path, SC; Betty Brenson and John Mays, both of Ware Shoals, SC; nieces, nephews, special friend, Shirley Wright, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services are 2 pm Wednesday in the Marvin R. Mattison Memorial Chapel, D. B. Walker Funeral Services with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Public viewing will be 3--7 pm Tuesday at D. B. Walker Funeral Services.
