Reverend Cecil Vernard Clement
Belton, SC – Reverend Cecil V. Clement, 75, husband of Geneva Jones Clement, departed this life on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Belton, SC, he was the son of Booker T. and Felicia Clinkscales Clement. Rev Clement was a graduate of Benedict College and for many years taught Language Arts in the Greenwood County public schools. He later went to work at BASF and retired after more than twenty years. Rev. Clement served as an associate minister at Liberty Baptist Church, Honea Path, SC.
Rev. Clement was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dallas Richard and Marion Garner Clement.
Rev. Clement leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife, Geneva Jones Clement, of the home; son, Timothy Clement, Columbia, SC; daughters, Angelia Jenkins (Daniel), Charlotte, NC, Jacqueline Henderson, and Claracia Clement, both of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services are 1 pm Saturday at the Liberty Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be on view at the funeral home Friday from 12 noon until 8 pm and will be placed in the church Saturday at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.
The family is at the home, 1116 Bell Road, Belton, SC.
