Roy Lee Bell

Roy Lee Bell, 64, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Albert Lee Jones and Lucille Bell Jones.  Roy served as a Reservist in the Army National Guard and had worked in manufacturing.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Albert Jones, Jr.; sister, Jennifer Gray; paternal grandparents, Alphonso Bentley and Rosa Lee Hunter; maternal grandparents, Emma Bell and James Bell.

Roy leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife, Doris Young Bell, of Anderson, SC; three brothers, Arthur (Yvonne) Jones, Anderson, SC, Tommy Lee McBride, Iva, SC, and Randy McBride, Greenville, SC; three sisters, Emma Jean Bell and Willie Mae McBride, both of Iva, SC, and Elizabeth Gray, Starr, SC; a cousin raised in the home, James Paul Bell, Anderson, SC; two aunts, Geneva Jones, Iva, SC and Julia Hunter, Anderson, SC; one uncle, Samuel Hunter, Anderson, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service is at 2 pm on Thursday in the Marvin Mattison Memorial Chapel, D. B. Walker Funeral Services, with burial to follow in Anderson Memorial Gardens.  Public viewing is on Wednesday, from 3-7 pm.

The family is at the home of his brother, Arthur (Yvonne) Jones, 209 Olive Branch, Anderson, SC 29626.
