Roy Howard Richardson

Roy Howard Richardson, 57, of 315 I Street Anderson, SC, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 14, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.  He was born in Anderson, SC and was the son of Annie Mary Richardson and Cain Heard, Sr.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents Annie Mary Richardson Thomas and Cain Heard, Sr., stepfather, Jimmy Ray Thomas, sister, Mary Claudette Thomas, two nephews, Kristopher Roebuck and Brendan Jones; maternal grandparents, James Collie and Annie Mae Richardson; and maternal great-grandmother, Cora Lee Sloan.

Roy is survived by seven brothers, Rico Orlando Thomas (Patricia) and Cain Heard Jr. (Isa Williams), both of Anderson, SC; Bernard and Dave Rodriquez Thomas, both of Atlanta, GA; Eugene Morris, Mauldin, SC; Cornell Brown, Clemson, SC: Foster Johnson (Angie), Anderson, SC; four sisters, Victoria Richardson, Tamara Vonetta Thomas and Omega Harrison (Tim) , all of Anderson, SC and Tracy Louise Thomas (Felicia Oliver), Simpsonville, SC; step-mother, Judy Faye Heard, Anderson, SC; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services are 3 pm Saturday December 23, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. James Coleman officiating. Public viewing is 3-7 pm Friday, and 11 am until 1 pm Saturday.  The body will be placed in the church Saturday at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
