Ruby Mae Walker

Ruby Mae Williams Walker, 91, widow of Joe Walker, departed this earth on Saturday, March 16, 2019. She was born in Anderson SC to the late Emmize Williams and Rosa West Williams. She is also preceded in death by four brothers Adger, Murray, O.C and E.W Williams: five sisters, Ora Belton, Johnnye Miller, Jacqueline Flippers, Maggie and Florence Williams.

She was an events planner and caterer and retired from First Baptist Church.

Since 2008, she has lived in Maryland and Georgia with her daughter.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly E. Walker (Canton GA); a nephew, Jesse “Butch” Boseman (Harlem NY); nieces, Robyn Flippens Parker (GA); Alberta Walker (IL); Mirtrue Hill; Beblyn Jean Beaty; Gloria Walker Vessels; and Xavia Walker Martin (Anderson SC); and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services are 2 pm Friday in the Marvin R. Mattison Memorial Chapel and burial will follow in New Silverbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the hour of service.
