Sadie Robinson Young

Sadie Robinson Young, 79, widow of Adolph Young, of 101 Burr Drive, Belton, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 25, 2023.

Born in Anderson County, SC she was the daughter of William H. Robinson and Leola Dean Robinson.

Sadie was a member of New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church where she served in many positions including the Past President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Rocky River Baptist Association, Woman’s Missionary, Deaconess, the Senior Choir and choir director for the Gospel Choir. Sadie was the manager of Robinson-Walker Funeral Service and was the pre-need counselor for D. B. Walker Funeral Services. She was a member of the South Carolina Morticians Association, Inc. and served as Chaplain for District Three. Sadie retired from Duke Energy as a Human Resource Supervisor and was a graduate of Anderson University. 

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother, Hattie Robinson, sisters, Tecola (Sammie) Mitchell and Bellena (Bruce Sr.) Young; brother, John William Robinson; beloved nephew and niece Clarence Bruce "Jay" Young, Jr. and Marva Young and brother-in-law, Thomas Rogers.

Sadie leaves to cherish fond memories, daughter, Adrienne Young Weston (fiancé Steve Alexander), of the home; son, Douglas Young (Charlotte), of Orange Park, FL; three grandchildren, Jordan Weston, League City, TX; Lauren Young, Brooklyn, NY and Christian Young, College Park, MD; sister, Kathryn Rogers, Spartanburg, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and may friends.

Funeral services are 3 pm Saturday at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The public viewing will be Friday from 3-7 pm and Saturday from 10 am until 12 noon at D. B. Walker Funeral Services. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 6 until 7 pm and the body will be placed in the church Saturday at 2 pm.
