Virginia Eileen Scott

Anderson, SC – Virginia E. Scott, 53, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Monday, August 27, 2018, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of David and Alice Simpson Scott.

Virginia had retired on disability early in life, but she had accomplished much in her life.  At her death she was completing her studies toward her Master’s Degree in Education.  She was a 1983 high school graduate of McDuffie High School, and a 1999 graduate of Voorhees College.  She had worked at AYA as a counselor, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation before retiring. She was also a part-time employee of D. B. Walker Funeral Home.

Virginia was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where she served in many capacities, serving as Chairperson of the Education and Scholarship Committee, WMU-Circle #4 and member of the Adult Ensemble.

She was preceded in death by her parents

Virginia is survived by her sister, Shirley Anne Norris, Belton, SC; God-daughter, Shela Tiera Payton, Anderson, SC; special cousins, Clarence Wilson, Chicago, IL: Doris (Ernest) Jones, Carl Wilson and Wanda Jones, all of Anderson, SC; nephew-Godson, James Darrell (Phynesha) Norris, Greenville, SC and great nephew, Jarael Norris, Greenville, SC.

Funeral services are 12 noon Saturday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be on view Friday beginning at 12 noon and will be placed in the church Saturday at 11 am.

The family is at the home of her sister, Shirley Norris, 111 Davis Drive, Belton, SC.
